Zoidberg Chronicles
Meeting the Professor
Part 1 of 3
Written By Drew Ciccotelli
Zoidberg came in late to his two bedroom aquatic house alone as he usually did but today was not like any other day. It had been a rough day at work at Wornstrum's Medical Hospital. Most people do not know that he had another job that he had not told Professor Farnsworth and also tell him that he worked with Farnsworth's biggest adversary.
Zoidberg: "Oh, how am I going to tell the Professor that I am working for Wornstrum?" "I can't keep this secret from him much longer."
It had been twenty years that he had been working for the Professor and he had remembered when he first met him.
Setting Twenty years ago. Zoidberg is a young medical school of University of Crustashush. He is walking down the street to a job interview singing a song
Zoidberg: "Do you believe in life after love…."
Suddenly an old man in his pajamas bumps into him and falls to the ground and doesn't get up.
Zoidberg: "Hello old man are you all right?"
Old Man: "Uh what, oh yes I am all right why do you ask?"
Zoidberg: "Because you're old and fragile."
Old Man: "I may be old but I am not fragile." "I can do a lot of things other 129 year olds can't even dream of doing."
Zoidberg: "Like what?"
Old Man: "That's not important, but what is important is that you would of given me help if I needed help." "I like you and I am thinking you don't have a job right?"
Zoidberg: "Well no, I don't."
Old Man: "Well then let me introduce myself, I am Professor Farnsworth and I run a little home business to pay for my research." "Do you have any job skills."
Zoidberg: "I graduated from medical school yesterday."
Professor Farnsworth: "That is just perfect, I need a doctor to check out my crew when I find some." "I didn't get your name did I my lad.
Zoidberg: "My name is Felonious Zoidberg."
Professor: "Very well then, come with me we can get you set up immediately."
Zoidberg: "Excellent, Excellent."
The two walk to a build that looks more like a lighthouse than a place for a doctor to work. But it was a job thought Zoidberg a real job that he had snatched by chance on the first day out of medical school. Zoidberg was feeling very smug about the whole thing.
When they got inside the place was empty with boxes thrown here and there with the label Toxic on the top.
Zoidberg: "What are these boxes for?"
Professor: "They are what you'll be using."
Zoidberg: "Very well."
As they begin to unpack the boxes another old man not as old as Farnsworth comes into the lab wearing a lab coat.
Professor: "What do you want Wornstrum?"
Wornstrum: "I have come to see that you fail in your attempt to set up a working lab."
Zoidberg: "What for?"
Wornstrum: "Because 80 years ago the Professor gave me the lowest grade possible an A minus and I vowed that I would get him back if it took me 100 years."
Just then he picks up a box of the Toxic and drops it on the ground and the harmful acid melts through the floor making a giant hole and then he runs out of the building laughing.
Professor: "I really hate that man."
Zoidberg: "How can we repair this."
Professor: "I will use my matter mattock to fix the hole."
Zoidberg: You have many talents Professor Farnsworth, it will be an honor to work for you."
Professor: "Just one thing you have to promise me."
Zoidberg: "Anything you want boss."
Professor: "Never ever work for that snake Wornstrum no matter what."
Zoidberg: "I promise."
Professor: "Good now let's get down to business."
It had been twenty years since he had made that promise and Zoidberg thought if Farnsworth could remember that far but Zoidberg knew that he would not forget a promise especially from his dearest friend. Zoidberg had to tell him for their friendship and for their trust.
