Hi, everyone! My Futurama Newsletter/club, the Futurama Fan-o-rama, had an awards show a while back. Our members voted for the winners and and the ceremony was written and appeared in our 10th newsletter, and here it is! Enjoy! A lot of the credit in writing this goes to my friend Katey.

FUTURAMA FAN-O-RAMA AWARDS!!
"Welcome everyone to the first ever Futurama Fan-o-Rama awards!! We are LIVE!!", the announcer yells! The audience cheers while Fry and Leela step up onto the stage to the microphone. "Welcome everyone to the 1ST Futurama Fan-o-Rama awards!!" Says Leela as the audience cheers again.
Fry walks up to the mike and says "We have a lot planned for you tonight, so stay tuned!"
"That`s right, Fry!", Leela answers. "Fry and I were honored were when we were asked to host these awards-" Suddenly Bender runs up onto the stage. When Leela sees him she says, "Hey, everyone! It`s our co-star, Bender!" Fry and Leela exchange worried looks.
"Hey! What`s going on here?! They chose a couple of meat bags to host over me?!", Bender exclaims. After Leela and Fry exchange nervous looks, (again) Leela decides to take over.
"Uh, He`s just acting, folks!"
"The hell I am! Why wasn`t I told about this......what is this anyway?", asks Bender.
"It`s the Futurama Fan-o-Rama awards, Bender", answers a nervous Fry.
"Futurama Fan-o-Rama awards?", Bender says, confused. "What the hell is that?! I'm out of here!"
"Bite my shiny metal ass," Bender mutters to Fry and Leela.
"Bender, everybody!", says a relieved Leela. "We'd better be moving along....." Leela motions to Fry to say his line.
"Our first award is for `Best Guest Star'", Fry says while Leela takes out the envelope.
"And the award goes to.....", Leela adds.
"THE BEASTIE BOYS!!", yells Fry. The Beastie Boy`s song "Intergalactic" plays in the background and the studio audience screams."The Beastie Boy`s heads-in-jars couldn't be here tonight, but they want to thank all their fans, and the producers of Futurama. Without them, they would of never been able to make their seven albums.", Fry explains.
"All right, the next award is for `Best Episode' " , Says Fry.
"And the winner is..." The audience quiets and Fry opens the envelope.
"EPISODE 1, 'Space Pilot 3000'! " Says Leela.
The audience bursts into applause and Matt Groening`s head-in-a-jar carried by a bodyguard steps up to the stage to accept the award and give his speech.
"Thank you, everyone! Thank you! I`m just, SO touched!" Leela gives Groening a glance and he sighs at his bodyguard.
"Uh, the award is for me," says Groening, rolling his eyes.
"Oh." The bodyguard holds Groening`s head up to the microphone.
"I want to thank you all for choosing an episode and for watching Futurama. Thank you." The bodyguard and Matt Groening go off the stage.
"All right, the next award is for `Best Quote' " says Leela. "And the quote is..."
"Oh, no room for Bender, huh? Fine! I`ll go build my own lunar lander! With blackjack and hookers! In fact, forget the lunar landing and the blackjack! Awww, screw the whole thing!", Fry announces. "Of course, Bender couldn`t be here to say it because he had to leave on important buisness!" Fry coughs. Bender suddenly stumbles onto stage, obviously in pain.
"What's the matter, Bender?", asks Leela.
"I took my own advice."
"And that would be...?"
"I took my head off and decided to bite my shiny metal ass."
He turns around to show the audience his pain, Leela laughs nervously.
"Isn't he great, folks? Time to go, Bender!" Leela motions and Bender is dragged off the stage by one of Matt Groening`s bodyguards.
"Sorry about that," apologizes Leela. "Continuing on, the award for funniest episode goes to the EPISODE 1, Space Pilot 3000' again!"
The audience cheers as Matt Groening is carried up by a different bodyguard.
"I gratefully accept this award and I want to thank the people who inspired me to make that episode. Whoever they are." Groening`s head says.
"Wow, TWO WHOLE awards in ONE NIGHT!" exclaims the bodyguard.
"Shut up, you`re making me look bad," says Groening`s head to his bodyguard.
"Moving along, we have the award for best male character- and the award goes to......" says Leela. Fry smiles and fixes his tux for his audience. "BENDER!", Leela finishes. Fry stumbles with surprise.
"And now for the award for best female character!" Fry grumbles with loss as he takes out the envelope. Fry quickly reads the response and smiles. "LEELA!", Fry yells. Looking shocked, Leela steps up to the mike.
"Oh dear God, I don`t know what to say? This...Oh, I'm just so touched! *Sniff* Thank you all, I just didn't expect this; to be honest, I expected Amy to win. *Sniff* Oh, I just can't thank the voters enough. Thank you all, who voted, and I assure you, Futurama will go on, as long as Matt Groening`s head is alive in a jar. Thank you all!", she graciously says.
"Let`s all give her a big hand!", Fry yells to the audience.
Following that, everyone cheers and in the middle of it a robot throws his actual hand onto the stage.
"Alright, on to the next award.", Leela says smiling.
"It`s the moment you`ve all been waiting for, best Futurama website!", Fry announces.
"The winner is.....THE LEELA ZONE!", Leela yells.
"Mark Lewald could not be here tonight, but here`s his response upon learning his site had won the award.", Fry explains and takes a piece of paper out of his pocket to read. "Hello, I`m happy to find out that TLZ won for best website at Futurama Fan-O-Rama. Thanks for the honor. -Mark"
"Check out The Leela Zone at futurama.onlytoons.com/tlz, I know it`s my favorite website", Leela beams.
Then Leela and Fry say together,"Thanks for voting, reading, and coming to the Futurama Fan-o-Rama awards! See you soon!"
