After making a dilvery to an old warehouse in NNY, they happen to pass the pizza place Fry used to work at, now boarded up. When the return to Headquarters, all Fry is talking about are "The Good Old Days". Farnsworth tells them of their next mission - to deliver a Time Machine to planet Fiction, a world where the fiction from books is brought to life through some cosmic string of woznames. They get the package, a small box no bigger than a ceral packet, and head for space. Whilst in space, Fry, still moaping about the 20th century, wishes he could see the old New York once again, and NOT the udnerground ruins. He suggests that he uses the time machine to get them all to go to the 20th century New York and see all the sites, just for a day. Then they could return back to the 30th century at the same point they left.

But it's never that simple, is it?

Leela says no. Bender says good idea, but the primitive 20th century alcohol might not be strong ernough to power him up. Besides, people might notice a robot walking down the streets. Nibbler, chewing on a useless piece of power cable, just burps.

Fry, desprerite to see the good ol' days again, sneaks into the Cargo hold and gets the package. He opens it up and out comes a GIANT time machine, almost as big as the Crushinator! He presses a load of buttons and waits. The ship then BLINKS out of the 30th century and appears, orbiting earth, on December 31st 1999. Leela happens to notice this, but thought she night have blacked out on the trip home from the dilivery, which never happened, although she assumed she forgot. She sends a communication to Farnsworth - nothing. There is no signal. She then recieves a load of primitive radio signals coming from loads of radio stations - and realizes she's in the 20th Century. Moaning at fry for a few mintues seems to do nothing, but she, and Bender, eventually agree to see the sites for ONE DAY. Fry then presses a "SHRINKIFY" button on the time machine, and it becomes small enough to fit in his pocket. Using some clever discuising, Bender looks like a human. He also takes a case of! 30th century beer with him just in case. So they get to New York on New Years eve. The whole city is celebrating. They happen to walk down the street with the pizza placve Fry works at, and through the window, Fry sees his past self getting the order from his boss to go the the very place he was frozen in time. Fry does some quick thinkin - he could stop his former self from going to the delivery, anmd he'd be home free. He'd cease to exist in the 30th century, but it would be worth it...

Leela notices something is wrong when Fry goes missing. Bender, out of beer and low on power, has to get to a bar quickly. leela, taking her mind of fry for a while, gets him to a 24-hour place and asks the bartender to get a large beer - post haste. The bartender turns out to be...FRY'S FATHER!!

Whils this is happening, Fry confronts himself. He explains what will happen if his former self delivers the Pizza. His former self, (Fry2 from now on), says that this imposter Fry is just trying to stop him from making the delivery, and rides on. Fry hears Fry2 riding down the street..."I hate my life, I hate my life, I hate my life...". And then thinks...if he stops Fry2, that'll be him. Fry2 stops, and thinks. He turns around and says, "You're right. I'm not going to make the delivery. Screw this whole job! I'm gonna save up and take me and my girl to Los Angeles!" Fry, the 30th century fry, starts the flicker......and then vanishes.

Leela and Bender at the bar, still there for some reason (having not dissapeared like fry), are leaving. Bender has a case of 20th century bear, saygin, and I qoute, "This stuff's bvetter than the 30th century crap! Beer's gottenb worse over the years. Man, am I glad to get a case a' this."

Leela and Bender go to look for Fry, but instead bump into Fry2, who is heading to his apartment to get his stuff to move out. They assujme he's Fry, and try to take him back to the ship. Fry2 explains that he did see another Fry, but is vanished. Leela said that he vanished because he chanegd the timeline. But why Leela and Bender didn't vanish? Leela scans the Beer and fins out there's a chemical which was banned in the 215th century in the beer which is preventing them from dissapearing into nothingness!

Stuck in the 20 century, Fry gone, and Fry2 as their only companion, they must think of a way to get Fry back, as well as get home. After all - Fry had the time machine!!!
