Bender and Leela are leading blindfolded Fry through a hallway in Planet Express.

Fry: Hey, Bender, Leela, where are you taking me?

Bender: Oh, you`ll see

They enter a darkened room.

Leela: You can take off your blindfold now

The lights suddenly flip on.

All: Surprise!! Happy Anniversary Fry!!!!!

Fry: [Smiling] What the?

Amy: Today is New Year`s eve!

Leela: It`s been one year since you became unfrozen!

Bender: Happy first year in the future, skin tube!

Fry: Wow! You guys did all this!

Zoidberg: Well it was worth it, now you can spin into your cocoon and emerge a new man.

Fry: This is great! There`s balloons....

Bender: And wine!

Fry: and presents....

Bender: And wine!

Fry: and cake....

Bender: And wine!

Leela: Blow out the candles

Fry leans over and blows out the cake which has a picture of a cryogenics chamber and blows out the cake. They all cheer. Professor Farnsworth comes into the room.

Professor: That`s strange, I thought I lived here yesterday.

Leela: We`re just having a party.

Bender: For my little space heater here.

Bender grabs Fry and noogies him. Fry laughs.

Professor: Well you better get going, you have a package to deliver.

Everyone groans.

Leela: But it`s the anniversary of the day Fry became unfrozen and we all met!

Professor: Oh, uh, what? You`re still alive?

Hermes: Regardless of what day it is, he`s right mon. That package has to be delivered today!

All: But.....

Professor: This package of cables has to be at Squarx 4, the television planet!

Hermes: If it isn`t, I`m afraid I`ll be forced to fire all of you. Everyone gets up slowly and heads for the ship. Bender stays to taste the wine, but Leela grabs him by the arm and leads him away. Cut to the ship blasting away. Inside everyone is feeling glum. Suddenly there is a bump.

Fry: Leela, what`s going on.

Leela: We`re hitting some turbulence. I think it might be a meteor shower or some kind of disturbance.

Leela desperately tries to control the ship, but it bounces and shakes.

Leela: we`re going to crash!

Amy, Fry, Leela, & Zoidberg: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

The ship crashes on a mysterious planet. Because of Leela`s good driving no one is hurt, but the ship is another story. Leela opens the door and it falls off. They step out.

Leela: it`s going to take forever to fix this.

Amy: I`ll help you

Leela: You guys scout around and see if you can find anyone who can help us.

Bender (mumbling): You guys scout around, blah, blah, blah

Leela: This is serious! It`s five o`clock, we have to get the package there by midnight or we could get fired!

Amy opens the hood of the ship and a cloud of black smoke emerges. Leela turns her back and as soon as she does a giant bird scoops up Fry, Bender, and Dr. Zoidberg and then flies off.

Leela: Huh? They`re gone already. I guess I got through to them.

They fly thought the air, but Bender bends the birds claws apart and they fall to the ground.

Fry: Oh, where are we?

Suddenly the three are surrounded by some kind of snakes. Fry backs away in fear.

Zoidberg: I`ll handle this.

Dr. Zoidberg manages to cut all their heads off with his claws.

Fry: This place is like a huge desert.

Bender: And there`s no intelligent life. [looking at Fry]

Zoidberg: And we seem to be lost!

Fry: What do we do now?

Part two!

When we last left our heroes they were stranded on an unknown planet. While Leela and Amy repair the ship they don`t know that Bender, Fry, and Zoidberg are lost in the wilderness of the planet. Now 7:00 pm, they have only 5 hours to deliver the package.

Fry: Now what do we do?

Bender removes a beer from his chest.

Zoidberg: Well, we`re not getting anywhere standing here. We have to scavenge the lands for rotting carcasses of which we may feed.

Fry looks confused and Bender throws the bottle on the ground.

Bender: Oh, let`s just go.

Meanwhile.........

Amy: How we doing?

Leela: Almost done............. Watch it Amy, you`ll put someone`s eye out!

Amy: Sorry. Gosh, they sure have been gone a long time!

Leela: Since they left so quickly, I`m sure they are making progress as we speak.

Cut to the desert. Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg are laying face down in the sand.

Leela: But then again, I bet they are wasting time

Cut back to the desert again. They are walking along, hot and exhausted.

Fry: We`re gonna die!

(Back to the ship.)

Leela: Come on Amy, we better hurry up.

Cut back to the desert. They are still walking, Leela seems to come out of nowhere and walk next to Fry.

Leela: What`s wrong Fry?

Fry: It`s hot, no one knows we are here, and If we ever do get found we are going to get fired!

Suddenly Fry stops in his tracks.

Fry: Leela! Where did you come from!?

Leela points behind them and they look to see the ship fully repaired and Amy standing by it.

Leela: Come on, we have less than 5 hours to get to Squarx 4.

They all happily climb into the ship. Leela turns the key and the ship starts up. Everyone cheers as they blast off. Leela looks at her watch, 8:00.

Leela: If the ship holds out we could make it in time..................Oh, no! Why here, why now!

Fry: What`s wrong?

Leela points out the window. Zapp Brannigan`s ship is in sight and coming towards them. Cut to the inside of Zapp`s ship. Kif and Zapp Brannigan are in the control room.

Kif: What are we to do about that ship?

Zapp: Destroy them!!

Kif: But, sir, that is the Planet Express ship, their captain is the alien known as Leela.

Zapp: Ah, yes. She is the one I WENT ALL THE WAY WITH!!!

Zapp yells so all of his servants can hear. They roll their eyes and get back to work.

Zapp: Kif, take them aboard.

Kif: And if they refuse?

Zapp: Destroy them!!

Kif: (sigh) Yes sir.

After talking to Kif they dock with Zapp Brannigan`s ship. As they step outside Zapp greets them.

Zapp: Well, well, well, my lover has returned.

He looks over and notices Amy.

Zapp: And who`s this?

Amy blushes.

Leela: Look Zapp, we have work to do so if you could just let us go and.......

Zapp: What`s your hurry

Leela: Well..........

Cut to jail cell on Zapp`s ship. Fry, Bender, Leela, Dr. Zoidberg, and Amy are all sitting side by side.

Fry: You know, you didn`t have to call him that.

Leela: Well it didn`t help when you burst into laughter and Amy started flirting with him.

Amy: I don`t see what your problem is Leela, he`s a hottie!

Bender: Heh, heh! The best part was when he started crying.

Leela: Well, you would of karate kicked him too if he said that to you! Anyway, we aren`t any worse off here then with Zapp.

Zoidberg: But how are we going to get out.

Fry: Well, Leela you could.........

Leela: Forget it!

Fry: Well, we`re stuck here until we can think of something!

End of part 2

When we last left our heroes they were trapped in Zapp Brannigan`s prison cell it`s 10:00 and time is running short along with many other problems......

Bender: Yeah! We`re running out of beer!

The gang is still sitting in prison, Kif walks up to them and addresses them from outside the door.

Kif: The bozo sent me to check on you. He wants three of you in his quarters to discuss the matter at hand.

There is silence and the characters look at each other.

Leela: [sighs] Okay, since I am the captain I better go.

Amy: I`m coming with you, I want to get another look at Zapp.

No one says anything else. Leela scans the room and grabs Fry by the shoulder.

Leela: Come on, you`re coming too.

They walk down a hallway to Zapp`s quarters.

Zapp: Why hello, what brings you here? Have you come to surrender to my love?

Leela: You sent for us.

Zapp: Ah, yes, and look who showed up.

Zapp leans over and takes Amy`s hand. Leela and Fry notice the keys to their cell hanging from his belt.

Amy: Hi, big Z.

Zapp: Mmmmmmm

Leela and Fry grab the keys and start to dash off, but then they stop, turn, and come back for Amy. Zapp is still in sort of a love sick trance.

Kif: Sir, they`re getting away.

Zapp: Not now Kif, I`m daydreaming.

Leela, Fry, and Amy run down the hallway and rescue the others. They hurry down to the docking bay and load into the ship. Leela turns the key.

Leela: It won`t start!

Fry: Let me show you how we fixed things in the 20th century.

Fry walks up to the driver`s station and gives it a good kick.

Leela: Fry, what the hell are you.....

Suddenly the engine starts up.

Leela: I don`t know how you did that, but I don`t really care.

They blast off.

Leela: It`s 11:00! We can still make it to Squarx 4 if we hurry!

Cut to the outside of the ship. It blasts across the screen at a very fast speed. A planet comes into site, they close in on it and land.

Fry: We made it.

Leela: And with time to spare!

Fry, Leela, and Amy head for the cargo bay while Bender and Dr. Zoidberg step outside.

Bender: [reading a sign] Welcome to Squarx 5!? What the.....

Fry, Amy, and Leela rush outside.

Leela: Oh, no!

Zoidberg: We`ve landed on the wrong planet!

Fry: What a rotten New Year`s/anniversary, everything possible went wrong!

They all sit down with sad looks on their faces. Dr. Zoidberg sees a fish market, makes a kind of mmmmm sound, and heads inside. Amy picks up a book from a nearby gift shop and flips through it.

Amy: Hey guys look at this! Squarx 4 was RENAMED Squarx 5 just this morning! We did make it! We`re here!

Leela: She`s right! Come on, we don`t have much time!

Flash to NNY. There are tons of people in the street and a big screen with a count down on it.

TEN.....

They run back into the ship.

NINE......

They hoist down the crate.

EIGHT.....

They put it on a wheel around thing.

SEVEN.....

They run down the street with it.

SIX......

Still running.

FIVE.....

They turn a corner.

FOUR......

They stop to look for the address.

THREE......

They head inside the building.

TWO.....

They hand the package to a guy standing there.

Everyone in this story: ONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR 3001!!!!

Bender slaps Fry on the back, and everyone is still cheering. Cut to the inside of the planet express ship on the return trip.

Fry: Wow, it`s really been one year since I came here!

Bender: That reminds me.

He reaches into his chest and pulls out a gift.

Bender: Here, Fry.

Fry opens it and gets a weird expression on his face.

Fry: Lug nuts?

Bender: Well, if you don`t want them......

He grabs them from Fry and stuffs them back in his chest. Leela rolls her eye.

Leela: Here Fry. We all pitched in a little to get you this, some of us very little.

Fry opens it, inside is a framed picture of all of the friends together, and underneath a package of Lightspeed briefs.

Leela: Happy anniversary, Fry.

Fry: You know, this day hasn`t been so bad after all! But, does anyone else get the feeling that we forgot something?

Cut back to Squarex 4/5. Dr. Zoidberg walks outside of the fish market chewing a fish to discover that they left without him.
